How Haven for Humanity collects, uses, and protects your information.
Last updated: April 14, 2026
This privacy policy applies to Haven for Humanity, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. It explains how we collect, use, and protect information gathered through haven.charity and related nonprofit programs.
We collect information you provide when signing the Haven Pledge, registering for nonprofit events, applying to start a Haven Center, volunteering, or making a donation. This may include your name, email address, location, and any other information you choose to share.
We use your information to operate our nonprofit programs, process donations, communicate about our mission and events, maintain the global Pledge map, and fulfill our obligations as a 501(c)(3) organization. We do not use your data for commercial marketing purposes.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share limited data with payment processors (Stripe) for donation processing, and with service providers who help us operate our programs under strict data processing agreements.
Haven for Humanity is a separate nonprofit entity from Haven Method (havenmethod.com). While Haven Method sponsors our mission in part, the two organizations maintain separate data practices. Information shared with Haven for Humanity is not automatically shared with Haven Method, and vice versa.
We respect the privacy of our donors. Donation amounts and donor identities are kept confidential unless a donor explicitly consents to public recognition. We comply with all IRS requirements for 501(c)(3) organizations regarding donor records.
We use essential cookies and basic analytics to understand how visitors interact with haven.charity. We do not use advertising cookies or retargeting technologies on our nonprofit site.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. If you signed the Haven Pledge, you may request removal of your name and location from the public map.
We retain personal data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law for nonprofit record-keeping and tax compliance.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
